Saint Jude Catholic School is a Christ-centered community that integrates strong Gospel values, the charism of mercy, and academic excellence. We strive to instill in our students a lifelong love of learning, a commitment to service, and the skills necessary to become fruitful members of the church and world.
October 1, 2018 was a history-making day for St. Jude School! At 1:00 pm, U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, recognized the National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2018. Out of the 349 winning schools across the nation, fifty schools were non-public, and St. Jude School was among this elite group! This recognition was based on our school's overall academic achievement.
"I'm pleased to celebrate with you as your school is named a National Blue Ribbon School," said Betsy DeVos in a video message to the honorees.
Our entire St. Jude School community was gathered in the gym to see and hear the good news for SJS! Our students and faculty raised the gym roof with their loud and proud cheering for our beloved St. Jude School.
Following the announcement, our students enjoyed a water ice treat donated to us by the family of Chase Weiland, a first grade student! (Mom's Water Ice, Hatfield). Our HSA Co-Presidents organized a group of parent volunteers to dip and serve the cool treat to our happy students.
Blue Ribbons were placed on trees by our 8th grade Student Council Officers. Now that the announcement has been made public, we will prepare this year's "spirit" t-shirts for our students with the Blue Ribbon logo. In November, we will celebrate with a Mass of Thanksgiving to God for the awesome blessing of our school.
The coveted National Blue Ribbon Schools Award affirms the hard work of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.

Congratulations and thank you to all!
