A couple weeks ago, Archbishop Chaput wrote to all of the priests in the Archdiocese and asked us to promote a Holy Hour for Vocations on Sunday, January 5
th – the Feast of St. John Neumann. Presently, we have 80 seminarians studying for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and several young men already in application for the upcoming academic year.
St. John Neumann had an unconditional love for the Blessed Sacrament. He knew that prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for an increase of Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life inspires a resurgence of hope for the future of our Church. I have always been convinced that God is inviting young men and women to say “yes” to these special vocations, as priests and religious. But Jesus wants us “to pray that the Master of the harvest will send laborers into His harvest.”
There are eleven parishes throughout the Archdiocese who will be hosting a Holy Hour on Sunday, January 5
th. None of these parishes are close to us. So, St. Jude will host our own Holy Hour for Vocations on Sunday, January 5
th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Please consider joining us in our Chapel and ask Jesus to bless St. Jude Parish with Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.
