“I was hungry and you gave Me food. I was thirsty and you gave Me drink.” (Matt. 25:35)
Do you like to cook? Or maybe you like to drive? You could help people in need while doing something you enjoy. You don't have to be a parishioner or even Catholic to help with this ecumenical outreach.
Aid for Friends alleviates the hunger and loneliness of isolated homebound individuals throughout the five-county Greater Philadelphia region, providing home-cooked meals and life-enhancing friendship.
Parishioners can make meals, soups, or breakfast bags, volunteer to drive extra meals to other freezer sites, or volunteer to be a visitor. We don’t have a great need of visitors in our parish, but we always need meals. Meal-tray tins and supplies are provided in the church and the convent garage. Cooking volunteers fill the tins with meals and bring them to the parish freezer, and volunteer drivers take them to regional freezers once or twice a month.
